Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

A Letter Written in the Summer of 2006

I wanted to take iPad recording for a spin today. Here's a little one-taker recorded in StudioTrack, which seems great for quickly laying out song ideas while I'm in the road.

I wrote this song several years ago, but have never really recorded it. Here's the quick-and-dirty demo, hope you enjoy (the lyrics are below) -

Lyrics:

I had a dream we were walking from post to post on the beach. We were balancing, your hand was gripping me, and we never had to look down. We're shadows and we're blurry. We're echos and we're fading, we're fading, and we're gone.

You were a Godsend to me, and I'd always hide myself inside you. You've seen all of me and you never looked away. We're shadows and we're blurry. We're echos and we're fading, we're fading, and we're gone.

We are spread across calendars, but you'r woven into me. We breath rhythmically, and all my prayers plead:

"Oh God, please let our scars connect and let her see all of me. She is light, she is ink, she is coffee, she is paint, she is vibrating strings, she is air in my lungs when I forget how to breath."

You are irises, you are downbeats, you are overcast days, you are laughter and grace. You are red, you are downbeats, you are waves. You're one thousand songs I have left to sing. We're shadows and we're blurry. We're echos and we're fading, we're fading, and we're gone.
